Tirich Mir at 7,788 metres dominates the valley, but the Hindu Kush around Chitral offers plenty more: Istoro Nal, Buni Zom, Saraghrar, Noshaq and several others rise between 6,000 and 7,300 metres. Mountaineering permits are issued by the Tourism Division of the Government of Pakistan in Islamabad.
