Kacha Qila is the "weak fort" of Hyderabad, built in 1768 by the same Kalhora ruler associated with Pakka Qila. Unlike the city's main fort, it was built with unbaked clay bricks, which explains both its name and its more fragile condition.
The fort is now badly deteriorated, but it remains part of Hyderabad's early modern defensive landscape. Many visitors come for the shrine of Makki Shah on the hill, with the fort walls giving context to the older city around it.
