Chaaye Khana is the most beloved local cafe chain in Islamabad — five branches around the city, the F-6 original being the busiest. The interior is bookshelves, mismatched wooden tables and dim lighting; the menu is loose-leaf Kashmiri pink chai, Karak doodh patti, gourmet versions of paratha rolls and a long all-day breakfast menu.
It is the standard meet-friends-for-an-afternoon spot for Islamabad's twenty-and-thirty-somethings. Wi-Fi works, laptops are tolerated, and the chai is good enough that nobody minds if you stay all day.
