Parliament House

The Parliament House on Constitution Avenue is the seat of the National Assembly and the Senate. The building, completed in 1986, was designed by Edward Durell Stone — the American architect behind the Kennedy Center in Washington and the US embassy in New Delhi — in a stripped-classical style with a long colonnade and a central dome.

Visitors cannot enter without a sponsor but the building dominates the Red Zone view from Constitution Avenue. The adjacent Prime Minister's House and President's House are also Stone designs and form part of the same set piece of capital architecture.
