Greater Iqbal Park

A 125-acre public park stretching north from the Walled City around the Minar-e-Pakistan. The park was extensively redeveloped between 2014 and 2017 — fountains, an artificial lake with paddleboats, walking paths, and a large open-air amphitheatre.

It is one of the best places in Lahore to see ordinary city life: families picnicking in the late afternoon, kite flyers from October to March, vendors selling chana chaat and corn-on-the-cob. The Minar-e-Pakistan and the National History Museum are inside the park; the Badshahi Mosque is across the road.
