Javed Manzil was the final residence of Muhammad Iqbal, the poet-philosopher whose work shaped modern Muslim political thought in South Asia. It is now preserved as the Allama Iqbal Museum, with rooms, manuscripts, books, photographs, and personal objects arranged in the house where he spent his last years.
The visit is quieter than Lahore's forts, mosques, and bazaars, but that is part of its value. It gives Iqbal a domestic setting rather than a statue's pedestal, and it helps connect the city's literary history with the politics and imagination of Pakistan.
