Aklan's traditional dishes are worth seeking out. Inubaran na manok — chicken braised in coconut milk with shredded banana pith — is the province's flagship dish, and you will find it on the menu of any restaurant that treats local cooking seriously. Binakoe, a coconut-poached fish wrapped in banana leaf, and adobong puti, a vinegar-and-garlic adobo without soy sauce, are the other Aklanon classics. Sweet, sticky inday-inday rice cakes are sold from carts on Pastrana Park.
The bulk of the restaurants are along the four blocks of Roxas Avenue and the streets immediately around it.
