Hiwang Native Village and Museum

A working Ifugao homestead-museum on a ridge two kilometres south of Banaue town. The Hiwang family have kept a cluster of traditional Ifugao houses, granaries, and ritual objects on their land and opened them to visitors as a kind of living museum. The view across the terraces from the ridge is excellent — almost as good as the main viewpoint, with fewer people — and the family explain Ifugao burial practices, rice harvest rituals, and house construction with first-hand authority.

Entry is by donation. You can stay overnight in one of the traditional huts if you arrange it in advance. The walk down from the road takes about ten minutes and the path is slippery in rain.
