Almost everyone comes to Banaue for the rice terraces, and there are several places to see them. The viewpoint just outside town gives the easy panoramic photograph; the village of Batad, an hour away by road and then a 45-minute hike down, gives the most dramatic amphitheatre of terraces. Tappiya Falls is worth the extra walk past Batad. The town museums are small but worth a quick visit for context on Ifugao culture. Most travellers spend two or three nights — one to see the main viewpoint and visit the Ifugao Ethnic Village, one or two for Batad and the falls.
