Koronadal Cultural Center Museum

The small museum at the Koronadal Cultural Center is the city's main cultural institution, covering the pre-colonial and colonial history of South Cotabato and the traditions of the region's Indigenous communities. The T'boli people, who live in the highlands around Lake Sebu, are the primary focus: their weaving traditions, musical instruments (particularly the kubing, a jaw harp), oral literature, and ceremonial objects are documented here through a modest but earnest collection.

The museum also covers the twentieth-century history of settlement in the Cotabato Valley — a story of Ilocano and Cebuano migrants from other Philippine islands who came here in the 1940s and 1950s under government resettlement programmes. This context helps explain the mixed cultural character of Koronadal today. The exhibits are modest by international standards but serve as useful preparation before heading to Lake Sebu to meet T'boli communities in person. Entry is cheap or free.
