Puerto Princesa's best-known restaurant, and worth the reputation. KaLui is housed in a remarkable wooden building on Rizal Avenue — half open-air pavilion, half art gallery — with carved tables, hanging lanterns, and shoes-off seating on tatami-style mats. The food is set-menu seafood, mostly tasting plates of the day's catch: tuna sashimi, grilled marlin, shells, prawns, and a vegetable curry.
Booking essential, sometimes a day or two ahead. Bring cash. The bill, for what you get, is reasonable; for what it is, it is extraordinary value.
