A long-running Italian restaurant in central El Nido, opened by an Italian who decided his life was elsewhere ("altrove") and stayed. Trattoria Altrove turns out a short menu of genuinely good wood-fired pizzas — the capricciosa is the safe order — alongside fresh pastas and a small handful of meat and fish mains.
The restaurant has a small upstairs terrace overlooking the town's main street and is full almost every evening in high season. No reservations; expect to wait 20 minutes in January.
