Puzzle Mansion

The Puzzle Mansion is one of Tagaytay's stranger attractions: a private home converted into a gallery displaying more than a thousand completed jigsaw puzzles, many of them massive. The puzzles are mounted and framed on every available wall surface, floor to ceiling, in room after room. Subjects range from fine art reproductions to Disney characters to elaborate fantasy landscapes.

It is simultaneously impressive as an act of obsessive dedication and slightly overwhelming as a visitor experience. The collection was assembled over decades by a local resident who became genuinely passionate about jigsaw puzzles as an art form. Guided tours walk you through the highlights and explain the history of particularly elaborate or unusual puzzles.

The mansion sits along the Nasugbu highway west of the main Tagaytay ridge viewpoints. It is not something you need to spend more than an hour at, but as an unusual detour from the standard volcano-view circuit, it is memorable.

A story
The collection was certified by Guinness World Records as the largest jigsaw puzzle collection in the world from 2012 to 2017, with over 1,000 completed puzzles. Owner Imelda Marcos — not the dictator's wife but a different Imelda — spent decades assembling them, including one puzzle with over 24,000 pieces.
