Tagaytay's main attraction is the view — specifically the view of Taal Volcano rising from the middle of a caldera lake that itself sits inside a larger crater, one of the most unusual geological formations in Asia. Everything else in town orbits that central spectacle.
The Tagaytay Ridge highway is the main spine, with viewpoints, restaurants, and resorts strung along it. The town fills with weekenders from Manila every Friday evening and Saturday morning; if you can visit on a weekday you will have most of the ridge to yourself.
