Tuguegarao Cathedral

The Saint Peter Metropolitan Cathedral — known locally as Tuguegarao Cathedral — is an 18th-century Baroque Roman Catholic church on Rizal Street in the city centre. Its tall belfry is the dominant landmark of the downtown skyline. The structure dates to the Spanish colonial period and was built by the Dominicans; the current form reflects reconstructions after earthquake damage. The cathedral is the seat of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao and remains an active parish church, packed for Sunday Masses. Worth stepping inside to see the vaulted interior and colonial-era religious art.
