Tuguegarao's headline draw is the Callao Cave system in Peñablanca, but the city itself has a handful of worthwhile stops before you head out into the Cagayan Valley. The Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral is an impressive piece of colonial Baroque architecture at the city's heart, and the Cagayan Valley Museum provides context that makes the rest of the valley more meaningful. Outside the city, the Pinacanauan River offers kayaking through striking limestone scenery, and the Buntun Bridge — one of the longest in the Philippines — is a point of civic pride worth crossing.
