A local institution serving the Tausug breakfast — satti (small skewers of beef or chicken grilled over coals, swimming in a sweet-spicy red sauce), eaten with sticky rice in a banana leaf. The full plate costs less than ₱100 and is unlike anything else in the Philippines.
The branch on Mayor Jaldon Street is the easiest one to find from downtown — open early, very busy in the morning, packed for breakfast and afternoon coffee. The coffee itself is the Sulu speciality — small cups of strong, sweet brew — and the Sulu and Malay-style snacks (pastil, bangbang, suman) are worth trying together.
