Daegu is well connected by the KTX high-speed rail network. From Seoul (Dongdaegu or Daegu station) the journey takes 1 hour 40 minutes; from Busan, around 40 minutes. The KTX is the most practical option for intercity travel — faster and more reliable than the bus.
Daegu International Airport, north of the city, operates domestic flights to Jeju and a small number of international routes, mainly to China and Japan. For most international visitors, the nearest major hub is Incheon (Seoul) or Gimhae (Busan).
The intercity bus terminal at Dongdaegu is a backup option for routes not well-served by KTX. Within the city, the two metro lines (Line 1 east-west, Line 2 north-south) cover most visitor destinations and are cheap and efficient.
