Getting There

From Seoul, the KTX bullet train runs to Singyeongju Station (a new station about 8 km west of the city) in roughly two hours; a shuttle bus or taxi connects the station to the city centre. Some trains from Seoul continue to Gyeongju Station (the older central station) on the Mugunghwa or ITX services, taking about three hours but arriving more centrally.

From Busan, Gyeongju is about 40 minutes by train or one hour by bus — it makes an easy day trip from Korea's second city. Express buses from Seoul's Gangnam terminal reach Gyeongju in about three to three and a half hours.

The Gyeongju Bus Terminal is in the centre of town near most accommodation. Gyeongju Station (the old station) is a short walk from the historic centre. Singyeongju KTX Station requires a connecting bus or taxi.
