Bongsusan Mountain rises to 482 metres south of Hongseong, with forested slopes and the remains of an old beacon station at the top. It is a quiet local hike rather than a famous peak, but the mix of exercise and hilltop history gives it more character than a simple viewpoint.
Go for the walk and the rural feel, not for dramatic alpine scenery. On a clear day the summit makes a pleasant half-day outing if you are already exploring the Hongseong area.
