Lovers Leap Falls is a waterfall northeast of Nuwara Eliya town, accessible by a short walk through tea estates. The falls drop about 30 metres down a rocky face and the pool at the base makes for a bracing swim on a warm day. The surrounding tea country is attractive walking terrain.
The path to the falls is not always clearly marked and a tuk-tuk driver who knows the area is the easiest way to get there. Allow an hour for the round trip on foot from the road. The falls are most impressive after heavy rain; during the dry season the flow can be reduced to a trickle.
