Unawatuna is primarily a beach destination, and most of what you will do here revolves around the water. The reef just offshore offers snorkelling straight from the beach, and several dive operators run trips to shipwrecks scattered along the coast. Surfing is growing in popularity, and you can rent boards from locals on the beach. Beyond the water, the area around Galle has plenty of history and nature to fill your days.
