Museum of Old Taiwan Tiles

The Museum of Old Taiwan Tiles is small, specific, and very Chiayi. Its collection focuses on patterned decorative tiles once used in Taiwanese houses, many of them imported or locally adapted during the Japanese period.

It is the kind of place that rewards close looking. After half an hour here, you start noticing old facades around town differently, especially the surviving shopfronts and family houses near the centre.
