From Taipei: Bus 1062 runs from Taipei MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station (exit 1) directly to Jiufen in about 90 minutes. Buses run frequently throughout the day. The fare is around NT$100. This is the easiest and cheapest option; the bus terminates on the road above Jiufen old street, right at the Shuqi Road steps.
Alternatively, take the train from Taipei Main Station or Songshan to Ruifang Station (about 45 minutes), then change to local bus 827, 1062, or a shared taxi to Jiufen (15 minutes). The train is faster for the Ruifang section but requires the additional bus connection.
By taxi from Taipei: about 60–90 minutes depending on traffic; costs NT$900–1,200 by meter. Taxis are most useful for early mornings or late evenings when buses don't run. EasyCard works on all buses in the Taipei region.
