Chuhuo Eternal Fire is a small natural gas seep outside Hengchun where flames burn from cracks in the ground. The sight is simplest after dusk, when the low flames are easier to see and photograph. It is an easy side trip from Kenting or Hengchun, but stay on the paths and treat the fire as a fragile natural oddity rather than a campfire.
