Kenting National Park covers the cape and its surrounding waters — hiking trails cross coral grassland, forest, and coastal cliffs. Baisha (White Sand) Beach is the main swimming beach, backed by resort hotels. Nanwan beach is larger and good for water sports and snorkelling. Eluanbi Park at the southern tip of Taiwan has the Eluanbi Lighthouse (one of the brightest in Asia) and geological features from Taiwan's prehistoric cultures. The walled town of Hengchun, 7 km north, has intact Ming-dynasty walls and a lively night market. Diving and snorkelling on the reef systems around the cape is excellent.
