Hat Chao Mai National Park

Marine national park covering the islands, mangroves, and 46km of coast

Hat Chao Mai National Park protects 231 square kilometres of coastline, mangroves, islands, and sea, including Ko Muk, Ko Kradan, and several smaller islands. The park headquarters is on the mainland coast south of Hat Pakmeng, and entry fees apply to visitors to the beaches and islands within the park boundary.

The park's seagrass beds are critical habitat for dugong, and the mangrove forests along the mainland coast shelter migratory birds and offer kayaking routes. The park office can arrange boat trips to the islands and has basic accommodation. This is the administrative and ecological heart of Trang's marine environment — the reason the islands are still pristine.
