Things to Do

Trang's appeal lies almost entirely offshore. The islands — Ko Muk, Ko Kradan, Ko Libong, Ko Ngai — are the reason to come, and the stretch of mainland coast around Hat Pakmeng and Hat Chao Mai is the departure point for most boat trips. The national park headquarters at Hat Chao Mai covers most of the coastal and island area.

Inland, the province offers caves and waterfalls in the Banthat Mountains that see only a fraction of the tourists who visit Krabi or Phang Nga. The town itself has a genuine Chinese-Peranakan character worth a few hours of wandering.
