Wat Ratchanaddaram is best known for Loha Prasat, the striking white, tiered structure topped with black metal spires. Built under King Rama III, it looks unlike Bangkok's more familiar gold-heavy temples and feels calmer than the city's headline sights.
Climb through the structure for rows of Buddha images, quiet corners, and a good view over old Bangkok. The 37 spires refer to the 37 virtues leading toward enlightenment, and the illuminated square is especially handsome at night.
