Mueang Nakhon Chum

Mueang Nakhon Chum is the older sister settlement of Kamphaeng Phet, across the Ping River from the main historical park. Its fortification and temple ruins are less polished than the UNESCO-listed remains on the city side, scattered through the landscape rather than framed by ticket gates and tidy paths.

That roughness is the reason to come. The ruins feel more local and less curated, with Wat Phra Borommathat still active among the older remains. It works best for travellers who have already seen the main park and want a quieter look at the wider historic city.
