Beaches

Jomtien is essentially one long beach, but it divides into sub-stretches with their own character. The full sweep is around six kilometres, the longest swimmable stretch on this coast.

Dongtan Beach at the northern end is the smartest — shaded by casuarina trees, sheltered, and with a good restaurant row. Main Jomtien Beach stretches south from there for nearly five kilometres, busy in the middle and quieter at the southern end past Soi 5. The far southern tip beyond Soi 11 is essentially empty most days.

For something completely different, take a boat across to Koh Larn (Coral Island) where the sand is white and the water genuinely clear, or south to Bang Saray Beach (15 km away, much quieter, fishing village atmosphere) for a low-key day out.
