Dongtan Beach

Dongtan Beach is the curving northern tip of Jomtien, separated from the long main beach by a small forested headland. It is sheltered, shaded by tall casuarina trees, and somewhat smarter than the main beach: cleaner, with better restaurants on the front road and a more residential feel.

The beach is also well known as Pattaya's main gay-friendly beach, especially on the southern half. The water is shallow and good for swimming, and there are watersports operators. Two minutes' songthaew ride north of Jomtien proper; in winter it can be crowded but never as packed as Pattaya beach.
