Mae Sariang is not a party town. The handful of places to drink are quiet, generally attached to guesthouses, and close early. That said, the riverside terraces are genuinely pleasant in the evenings, and a cold beer watching the Yuam go by is one of the more agreeable ways to end a day in the north.
Coffee culture has arrived lightly here — a couple of small cafes near the town centre do proper espresso alongside fresh-squeezed juices and local herbal drinks.
