Navoi sits on the main Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara railway line, which makes it easy to reach by train. The journey from Tashkent takes around 4 hours on the Afrosiyob high-speed train (which does not always stop here) or 5–6 hours on slower services; from Samarkand about 2 hours; from Bukhara under an hour. Navoi Airport has some domestic flights from Tashkent. Most travellers approach the city as a stop between Samarkand and Bukhara, staying a single night. The train station is a comfortable walk from the town centre.
