Bạch Mã Temple is one of the old guardian temples of Thăng Long, the city that became Hanoi. It is dedicated to Long Đỗ, the city god, whose white horse gives the temple its name.
The temple sits in the Old Quarter, so it is easy to fold into a walk through Hanoi's oldest streets. Step inside for a quieter, older layer of the city behind the traffic and shopfronts.
