Phu Bai International Airport is about 15 kilometres south of the city centre, with domestic flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Hue is on the Reunification Express railway — the journey from Hanoi takes about 13 hours, from Ho Chi Minh City about 20. Open tour buses connect Hue with Hoi An (about 4 hours via the Hai Van Pass), Da Nang (2-3 hours), and other destinations along the coast.
