Seafood Restaurants on the Beach Road

The stretch of road running behind Qui Nhon's main beach is lined with open-air seafood restaurants that operate from late afternoon until midnight. The format is the same at most of them: tanks of live crabs, lobster, and fish at the entrance, plastic tables on a covered terrace, and a menu that essentially depends on what came in that morning.

Order the tiger prawns grilled with salt and chilli, the whole grilled snapper, or the stir-fried clams with lemongrass. Prices are low — a full seafood spread for two costs less than half what a comparable meal would cost in Hoi An. The restaurants are informal and welcoming, though menus are often only in Vietnamese; pointing at the tank works perfectly well. Look for the busiest place with the most locals: around 18:00–19:00 it fills fast.
