Getting There

Qui Nhon is served by Phu Cat Airport, about 35 kilometers north of the city. Vietnam Airlines and VietJet operate regular connections to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and a handful of other Vietnamese cities. A taxi from the airport takes around 45 minutes and costs roughly 250,000–350,000 VND.

By train, Qui Nhon sits just off the main north-south railway line. You arrive at Dieu Tri station, 10 kilometers from the city centre, and take a short connecting train or taxi into town. Most express trains between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City stop at Dieu Tri. The journey south from Da Nang takes around 3.5–4 hours; northbound to Hanoi is around 10–12 hours on a sleeper train.

Long-distance buses connect Qui Nhon to Da Nang (around 4 hours), Hoi An, Nha Trang (around 3.5 hours), and Ho Chi Minh City (around 12 hours). The open-bus tickets sold at hostels throughout Vietnam will route you through Qui Nhon, though many companies skip it in favour of Nha Trang — worth checking when you book.
