Gold Mohur is a small, deeply sheltered cove on the western tip of the Aden peninsula, just below the cliffs of Steamer Point. The beach is short, the sand mixed with shingle, and the water clear and warmer than the open Gulf. A waterfront hotel of the same name — long battered by conflict — overlooks the cove from a low headland.
The beach is sometimes accessible, sometimes closed off depending on the security situation. Even on quiet days the surrounding cliffs make it feel more remote than its central location suggests.
