Tisa's is the heart of Alega — part beach bar, part community institution, built from salvaged timber and natural materials by Tisa Fa'amuli, who has run it for decades. The food is simple Pacific fare: grilled fish pulled fresh from local waters, coconut-based dishes, and the occasional oka (raw fish in coconut cream) when available. Portions are generous and the prices reflect the village setting rather than tourist markup.
Tisa herself or a family member will usually be around; they manage access to the beach and reef, and their knowledge of local conditions — when the current is safe, where the sharks patrol — is worth the price of a drink. The bar is open most days but hours are irregular; a phone call ahead is wise if you're making a special trip. Closed Sundays.
