By air: Port Macquarie Airport (IATA: PQQ) has direct flights from Sydney with QantasLink and Regional Express, and seasonal services from Brisbane and Melbourne. The airport is about 5 kilometres west of the town centre; taxis and rideshare services cover the transfer.
By bus: Greyhound and Premier Motor Service run coaches between Sydney and Port Macquarie, with the journey taking around five hours. There are also direct services to Brisbane (around six hours). Buses stop near the town centre.
By car: Port Macquarie is on the Pacific Highway (A1), about 390 kilometres north of Sydney (roughly four hours by car). A faster inland route via the New England Highway and Oxley Highway is about the same distance and avoids some of the Pacific Highway traffic around Newcastle.
By train: There is no direct train service. The nearest station is Wauchope, 18 kilometres inland, on the Sydney–Brisbane line. A connecting bus runs into Port Macquarie.
