Autumn and spring are the best seasons for Arkaroola: warm enough for long days outside, cool enough to walk, and usually clear at night. Winter can be excellent too, though nights are cold.
Summer is serious desert travel. Heat above 40C is possible, shade is limited, and walking in the middle of the day can be dangerous. If you come then, plan around early mornings, evenings, and vehicle-based touring.
