Binalong Bay

Binalong Bay is the southern gateway of the Bay of Fires — a small settlement of holiday houses 10 km north of St Helens, with a sealed road, a café, and the easiest direct access to the orange boulders. The beach in front of the village is sheltered, swimmable in summer, and a textbook example of the lichen-painted granite.

The Bay of Fires Conservation Area starts here. Free camping is available at Swimcart Beach, Cosy Corner, and Cobler Rocks just up the road. No shops past the village — fuel up in St Helens.
