Platypus House gives you the kind of close, unhurried look at platypuses that is hard to manage in a river at dawn. The guided visits also include echidnas, which are just as odd and usually much easier to appreciate when they are not disappearing into scrub.
It is a small place, but a strong one. For many visitors, it is the most reliable wildlife encounter on the Tamar.
