Junee Cave State Reserve

Junee Cave State Reserve protects the entrance to a large karst system just outside Maydena. The public visit is a short, easy walk through damp forest to the cave mouth, where cold water emerges from the limestone and disappears into the valley.

The deeper cave system is for experienced cavers, not casual visitors. For most travellers, the appeal is the quick taste of Tasmania's wet forest and underground country without needing a full wilderness day.
