Albany Wind Farm turns a piece of infrastructure into one of the city's better coastal viewpoints. The turbines stand on a high ridge west of town, where boardwalks and lookout points take in the Southern Ocean, Torndirrup coastline, and the restless weather that makes this corner of Western Australia feel so exposed.
It is an easy self-drive stop and works well with The Gap, Natural Bridge, or other Torndirrup sights. The turbines are huge up close, but the real pleasure is the setting: heathland, sea wind, and a broad horizon that reminds you how far south Albany sits.
