A granite monolith on Middleton Road that has become one of Albany's more endearing landmarks. The boulder, about two metres tall, bears a natural resemblance to a dog's head in profile — complete with a prominent snout — and has been painted to enhance the likeness. It sits in a small reserve just north of the town centre, an easy stop on the way to or from Middleton Bay. Children find it immediately; most adults secretly agree.
