Lautoka is 24 km north of Nadi on the Queens Highway. Buses run frequently between Nadi and Lautoka and cost very little; the journey takes about 45 minutes. Taxis from Nadi are faster and cost around FJ$25–35. Express buses also connect Lautoka to Suva, the capital, in about 4 hours.
The nearest airport is Nadi International, which handles all international and most domestic flights to Fiji. Cruise ships occasionally dock at Lautoka port, which is directly in the town centre. The Yasawa Flyer departs from the port each morning for the Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups.
