Agrodome is a polished but genuinely useful introduction to New Zealand farm life, with sheep, dogs, shearing demonstrations, and farm tours close to Rotorua. It is touristy in the open, cheerful way Rotorua often is, but the demonstrations are clear and entertaining, especially for families.
The attraction works well as a counterpoint to geothermal parks and Māori cultural experiences. Go in expecting a show rather than a museum: the value is in seeing rural skills performed live, with enough humour and audience participation to keep children interested.
