Wellington's most distinctive street is a pedestrianised stretch of independent shops, record stores, vintage clothing, and some of the city's best cafes. The bucket fountain at the top is an unofficial city landmark. On weekends the Cuba Street market brings out food stalls and buskers. It is the best place to get a feel for Wellington's personality.
